What is National Leadership Camp?

7 Day / 6 Night, All-Inclusive, Summer Camp

National Leadership Camps are a top resource for all who would like to pursue their  academic dreams.

All students can now enjoy summer camp!

Imagine collaborating with student peers from across the country... At National Leadership Camps, students will challenge themselves with topics from a variety of disciplines, working in groups, students will research, plan, and execute projects and presentations while competing against other teams.

Every student will compete in up to four different group project teams  during the week and will complete a camp job equivalent to extra-curricular activities.

After a week of camp, students will be ready for the challenges offered at their respective schools.

Who qualifies for National Leadership Camp?

Currently, National Leadership Camp serves students who are rising 9th - 12th graders.

National Leadership Camp is a training ground for FUTURE leaders so ALL students, regardless of academic achievement, can benefit from the program. Every student will be challenged rigorously and will find something to take away that will help them grow into better students and better leaders.

Who pays for National Leadership Camp?

Parents, sponsors, school districts.

School districts can use federal title funds. Purchase Orders are accepted from LEAs.

Multi-student discounts for LEAs may apply.

How is National Leadership Camp a Dual Language Camp?

National Leadership Camp offers all of their student programs in either an English Only or Dual Language (English / Spanish) format. Students who choose to participate in the Dual Language track will complete two projects in English, and two in Spanish, including one STEM project in each language. The Dual Language track is available every week of camp.

Students will register for the English Only or the Dual language track at check-in.

Imagine collaborating with top educator peers from across the country... At National Leadership Camps, teachers will challenge themselves with topics from a variety of disciplines.

Working in groups, teachers will research, plan, and execute projects and presentations while collaborating with other educator teams.

Every educator will complete three different group projects, write a project of their own, and evaluate student projects.
All professional development is aligned to professional standards such as the TEKS (TX), Next Generation Science Standards,
Common Core (U.S.).

Professional Development FAQ's

Is Parking Available?

Yes. However, each University has a different policy regarding cost. Ask camp staff before parking on campus without a permit.

If I'm in PD, am I a camp chaperone?

No. As a PD camper you will be busy. Camp will provide all chaperones for students.

Do I have to stay on campus overnight?

Yes. As a PD camper, you will be busy and will often need to collaborate with your peers late night and early mornings.

Can I have visitors overnight as a PD camper?

If you choose to have an overnight visitor, you will need to pay a separate room and board fee.

At what time do I need to arrive / leave?

Check-in is between 1 - 5 pm on Sunday. Check - out is after 11:00 am on Saturday morning for PD.

What is The 2-Day Jumpstart PD?

2-Days, 8am - 4pm

In-School Coaching

8am - 4pm

Follow  a week or more of summer camp PD and/or a “Jump Start” experience with in-class coaching. Professional trainer/coaches with Masters Degrees or higher will model project-based learning and help teachers implement their training.

The Catholic University of America is located a few short miles north of the United States Capitol in Washington, DC. It is the largest campus in DC with over 154 acres. Campers will enjoy buffet dining, three meals per day, and live in campus dorms. On Wednesday, the camp field trip will be to the National Mall and The United States Capitol.

How Much Is National Leadership Camp?

The short answer: $2,995

One week at National Leadership Camp including all meals from Sunday dinner until Saturday breakfast, housing, and all activities is $2,995 per person at CUA for the summer of 2024.

When is Payment Due?

•    REGISTRATION –To register student or adult campers:

- Receive an email verification of your reservation
• Make Final Payment at least five (5) business days before  your week of camp starts


 • CAMPER INFORMATION -  A camper information form will be emailed to you upon receipt of your PO or check. Each camper must have a form on file before the start of camp.



•  PROOF OF HEALTH INSURANCE - All campers must supply proof of Health Insurance.  Proof of Health Insurance must be received at least 5 days before Camper Check In.



•  CAMP CHECK-IN – All campers must:
- Provide proof of Health Insurance
- Provide a complete camper information form
- Have a final payment on file



•    COVID Note - Due to COVID-19 concerns in the summer of 2022, all adult campers must have proof of COVID-19 vaccination at Check-In. 

Any camper exhibiting signs of an active COVID-19 infection will be asked to provide a negative COVID test result before Check In.
